Q: What programs do you use?
95% Photoshop CS5 these days with Illustrator for lettering. Paint Tool SAI is my favorite of choice for general (and affordable/ethical) drawing software, though.
Q: Can I use your fanart? What's your fanwork/art policy?
Yes, you can use my fanart as long as it is definitely not used for commercial reasons, and as long as you put a credit back to this site somewhere. You do not need to ask permission (for fanart). Please note that not all artists feel the same way; it is common courtesy to ask them individually.
For my original works (such as IRON CROWN), please ask me first.
Can I voice-over one of your fandom comics?
Sure! Like the above, please add a clear credit back to this site. I’d also love a link as well, but it's not required.
Q: Do you take requests/commissions?
Requests and public commissions are indefinitely closed. If you have a professional inquiry, please send an email to (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a general description and your budget.
Q: What are some tips for an art student?
Draw more than what you're currently drawing. Do deep dives into art and design history. Ignore anyone that dismisses your interests right out of hand. Make projects for yourself and see how well you can execute them.
Take internships as soon as you can, with the mindset that you're trying to eliminate what you *don't* want to do for the rest of your life. Be kind, be professional, show up on time.
Q: What’s IRON CROWN?
A gothic-thriller webcomic about a dictators daughter on the run, her living weapon, and her mercenary escorts all standing against a much darker enemy on the horizon. It generally updates Mondays and rated for audiences 16+ for violence and adult themes.
There is an update twitter over at @ironcrowncomic, and concept art can be seen on the related sketchbook tag here.
